But the very key of his public voice at international stage is very easy to understand. Somebody for former USSR who visited the West afte the fall of communism formulated the golden rule of Soviet propaganda: ”Now I understand that all was said by communist press about the West is true, but all that was said about internal realities in USSR was false”. Dugin is acting exactly in this paragigm. All he is saiyng about the collective West is totally true, and all he is saying about the Russian political realities is perfectly false. The same magic formula of propaganda. Nothing new.
This is where one has to begin to delve into the very nature of this reality - and the nature of human beings. At least that's what I've done on some level.
Human beings have a psychological profile which is very easy to manipulate using dichotomies. Dichotomies and false dichotomies are everywhere - in fact, they all are mostly false dichotomies. It's a binary system in play - ones and zeroes, almost like a computer code.
When the human mind embraces that something is true, it immediately assumes that the opposite is false. Even when it isn't, it's easy to convince the human mind that this is in fact how things are.
When I converse with Ukrainians and state that cabal is ruling the nation and that kidnapping people off the streets is wrong and people need to rise up, they more often than not counter with 'but russia bla bla bla'. What you are looking at is the 'lesser of 2 evils' template. Many of them fully realize that both cabals are bad, but they can't escape the false dichotomy governing their minds - they pick one of the 2, never considering the 3rd, 4th, etc option.
In the US, they also used this 'lesser of 2 evils' template during the elections. 'Trump may be bad, but look at Kamala.'
